RAID is not about politics. We have a Government that was elected democratically
Our MP, Head of NLC and NLC Councillors are NOT members of RAID
However, we didn't vote for it to ride roughshod over established planning protocol and local democracy
We want our town and local community to be developed in a sensible and phased way that protects the environment and gives us an infrastructure and traffic system that can cope
We want the town to retain and develop its original Market Town character and not turn into an oversized dormitory town with no identity or soul.
We want to retain ecologically friendly fields, not concrete, as Barton upon Humber's Southern gateway
RAID did not seek this fight. The people concerned have far better things to do. It was brought upon us due to potential radical changes to planning policy and a developer apparently very eager to make the most of this
RAID believes that the Banks proposal is purely for commercial gain and that it will not benefit this community and - contrary to publicity - it will merely amplify current problems
Therefore RAID is determined to fight hard and at the highest level - because the future of this town and community is at stake
HAVE YOUR SAY TOO !!
